How do streaming apps work on the Hopper?

Popular streaming apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video can be watched through your Hopper DVR and easily searched with DISH’s universal voice remote with Google Assistant built-in. Simply speak the show or movie you would like into your remote and DISH’s Hopper will search the DVR, On Demand as well as Netflix, YouTube and Prime Video.


With DISH’s integrated search feature, you can simply click on the App built into the menu and launch your favorite app without changing inputs or remotes.

How can I watch other popular apps with DISH?

A.

DISH customers may now add a new box to their Hopper receiver called the Hopper Plus. This new box allows you to access over 10,000 apps featured in the Google Play Store!


Simply download the app, use your login credentials and stream your favorite content via your Hopper receiver.

Can I use HBO Max/Max on the Hopper?

A.

HBO Max is now Max – the streaming home for HBO, Discovery and more – and it is available on your DISH Hopper Plus. If you already had HBO Max installed on your Hopper, Max will require a separate download of a new app, but will use the same account and logins to deliver the very same content.

Is Netflix on the Hopper?

Netflix is built-in to your Hopper from day one, so you’ll be ready to start enjoying movies and shows right away once you sign in or create a new account with Netflix.


Netflix on the Hopper is very similar to the Netflix layout you may already be used to from other devices, also allowing you to watch your entire library quickly and easily and without having to switch inputs. Simply open the app from the Hopper’s ‘Apps’ menu and you can get started.

Is Amazon Prime Video available on the Hopper?

As the first TV provider to include the Prime Video app in a set-top box, you can find Amazon Prime Video already built-in to your Hopper unit.


Simply navigate to the ‘Apps’ menu on your Hopper and open Prime Video to get started. Watch instantly without switching inputs and enjoy content with a navigation layout that you’re already used to if you’ve enjoyed Amazon Prime Video on other devices before.

Can I use Pandora on the Hopper?

Pandora is available on the DISH Hopper for you to be able to stream and enjoy music directly on your TV.

What is the Hopper’s DISH Music app?

A.

The DISH Music app from Hopper brings a music streaming experience that’s specially suited to your home. With DISH Music, you can stream audio throughout your house in any room with a connected TV or compatible Play Fi-enabled speaker. Play, pause, change tracks and even adjust the volume for each room or speaker individually.


You can also listen to DISH-exclusive stations, and downloading the app to your smartphone or tablet will let you stream from services like Pandora, iHeartRadio and more.

How do I watch YouTube with my Hopper?

The YouTube app comes built-in on the DISH Hopper 3 or Hopper with Sling, and will allow you to search and watch YouTube video right through your TV.


To open YouTube, press ‘Home’ and select ‘Apps’ to access the Apps menu where you can select the YouTube app. You can also access YouTube by going to channel 371 in the channel guide.


You can also sign in to your YouTube account for a more customized experience, subscribe to specific channels and get recommendations for more content suited just for you.

How can I access The Weather Channel app?

The Weather Channel comes built-in with your DISH Hopper and can be accessed either from your DISH ‘Home’ menu or through channel 214 in the channel guide.

What can I do with MLBN Interactive on the Hopper?

A.

The MLBN app available on your Hopper lets you get local and national Major League Baseball news right on your TV, as well as get daily scores with instant updates.


The MLBN app can be accessed from the ‘Apps’ folder on the Hopper, or in DISH’s ‘Home’ on channel 100.
