DISH’s latest upgrade is DISH Music, an app that lets you sync music throughout your home with DTS Play-Fi technology. With the free Android, iOS or Amazon app you can play music on your
Hopper and Joey receivers from your phone or tablet.
Stream Music From Amazon Music or Pandora
Choose your favorite streaming service – DISH currently offers integrations with iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, Pandora, TIDAL, Deezer, Napster and Amazon Music. Or sync from your own music collection. While the Hopper 3 has its own music apps, this is the first time your personal library can be played on a DISH receiver. DISH Music also lets you play local AM/FM radio stations, a first for DISH customers.
Listen Throughout Your Entire Home
Your Hopper 2 or 3 and Joeys can sync and play the same music throughout your house for a surround sound feel using the TV equipment you already have. You can also choose a different source for every room in the house, playing one song on your living room’s Hopper, with another on the Joey in the bedroom. All the details of the current track will display on the TV connected to the receiver you’re syncing with.
Every detail is taken care of in-app, with the option to name each of your speakers and control volume in a specific room or throughout the entire house.
The app does have features created for syncing with DISH’s receivers, like details displayed on your TV. However, the DISH Music app lets you stream your favorite online radio and personal music library to not only your DISH equipment, but any other
Play-Fi enabled speakers. To use the new app, your speakers and smartphone (or tablet) just need to be connected to the same WiFi network.
Why Download the DISH Music App?
If you’re a DISH customer, this integration is a great addition that lets you create whole-home entertainment with zero extra cost. The app is free and if you already have a DISH receiver or another Play-Fi speaker system – and there are tons to choose from – this is a no-brainer!
