Ellen DeGeneres is taking her daytime television talk show games to the next level in the new primetime series Ellen’s Game of Games on NBC. Last night, a special preview aired after The Voice and you can watch the episode on Hulu and NBC.com. After just one episode, it’s looking like this is going to be a new family favorite!

Ellen and her trusty dancing sidekick tWitch (of So You Think You Can Dance fame) are pumping up both the live audience and viewers at home with giant versions of the games they already play every day.

Unlike The Ellen Show where audience members, and therefore game contestants, are all middle-aged females, there’s a lot more variety in the players on Ellen’s Game of Games.

Audience members are selected Wheel of Fortune-style to compete in games like Dizzy Dash, Tuba Toothpaste and Scary Go Round. Contestants answer trivia questions with messy, hysterical results, which depend on the game and include extreme dizziness, long drops and faces full of mysterious goo.

This recipe has proven successful during daytime TV, and it looks like it’s going to be just as great in primetime! Ellen’s gentle digs at contestants and the funny, physical nature of the games themselves make her Game of Games fun to watch for the entire family.

You can find Ellen’s Game of Games on Tuesday nights at 8 pm this winter on NBC, starting January 2.
